Skippered Sailing Holidays

Best UK Tours lists skippered sailing weeks in Croatia and the Greek Ionian islands. The current plan runs from Sunday until Friday, with the route shaped by the vessel, weather, berths and the skipper’s safety decisions.

The written booking must name the vessel, skipper, guest capacity, sleeping arrangements, inclusions, cancellation terms and whether the charter is exclusive to your group. Contact us if any of those points is missing from the booking flow.

How Our Sailing Holidays Differ from Our UK Tours

These are small-vessel sailing weeks rather than cruise itineraries. The published route is a plan, and the skipper may change it for weather, sea conditions, berths or safety.

Do not assume that a particular boat, exclusive use, harbour, swimming stop or time ashore is guaranteed unless it appears in the booking confirmation.

— where we sail

Where We Sail

Both trips spend six days on the water, beginning on a Sunday and finishing on the Friday evening. The itineraries below are recommended starting points rather than contracts, and your skipper will happily adapt them as the week unfolds.

A week on the Croatian coast

Our Croatian week begins among the white-pebble beaches of Brac, then wanders through the Paklinski Islands and on to Hvar, with its lavender fields and hilltop fortress. Quieter days follow on Maslinica and in the medieval streets of Trogir before the week ends in Split, where the waterfront promenade and Diocletian’s Palace make a memorable final day. The full day-by-day plan is on our sailing in Croatia for a week page.

A week in the Greek Ionian

In Greece we sail from Lefkada, an island connected to the mainland by a floating bridge and known for its dramatic cliffs and turquoise water. From there the week takes in the sheltered harbour town of Vathy, the tranquil village of Geni and the sailors’ favourite Sivota, with a lazy day at anchor in Abelike Bay and a final swim at Varko Beach before you step ashore. You will find the complete itinerary on our Greek sailing trip page.

— who they suit

Who Our Sailing Holidays Suit

These weeks suit couples, families and friends who are comfortable sleeping aboard in double cabins and with a route that can change for weather, berths or safety.

The current plan accommodates up to six guests. Check the written confirmation for the vessel, shared spaces, skipper and whether the charter is exclusive before deciding whether it fits your group.

— your questions

Sailing Holiday Questions, Answered

Where do your sailing holidays go?

Two places at the moment. The Croatian week runs along the Dalmatian coast around Split, taking in Brac, the Paklinski islands, Hvar, Maslinica and Trogir. The Greek week sails the Ionian from Lefkada, calling at Vathy, Geni, Sivota, Abelike Bay and Varko Beach. The full day-by-day plan for the Adriatic is on our week in Croatia page.

How long is a sailing week, and which days does it run?

The current sailing plan runs from Sunday until Friday. Dates are limited, normally to selected weeks in May and early June, so use the live dates shown in the booking flow. The route remains subject to the vessel, weather, berths and the skipper’s safety decisions.

Is the boat private to our group?

The current plan accommodates up to six guests sleeping aboard in three double cabins from Sunday until Friday. The booking confirmation must name the vessel, whether it is exclusive to your group, the cabin allocation, shared spaces and facilities before you pay.

How is this different from a cruise?

This is a small-vessel sailing week with a proposed route rather than a large ship following a fixed cruise timetable. The vessel, guest capacity, exclusivity and route must appear in the booking confirmation, and weather, berths and safety can still change the plan.

Do I need sailing experience for a skippered sailing holiday?

None at all. On a skippered holiday the captain sails the boat and you are the guest. If you fancy learning while you are aboard, your skipper will gladly show you the ropes, quite literally, but you are equally welcome to do nothing more strenuous than choosing where to swim.

Who do these sailing weeks suit?

They suit guests who are comfortable sleeping aboard in a double cabin and with a route that can change for weather, berths or safety. The current plan accommodates up to six guests; check the booking confirmation for the vessel, shared spaces and whether the charter is exclusive.

Can we change the sailing itinerary?

You can request changes, but the skipper decides what remains practical and safe for the vessel, weather and available berths. Only treat a requested route or stop as agreed when it appears in the written confirmation.

Should we choose Croatia or Greece?

It depends what you want from the week. Croatia gives you walled towns and busy harbour evenings alongside the swimming, with Hvar, Trogir and Split all on the route. The Ionian is quieter and greener, with more time at anchor and less time in town. If you would rather see the Greek option first, the itinerary is on our Greek sailing trip page.

How do we book a sailing holiday?

Use the live dates in the booking flow or contact us first. Before paying, check that the confirmation names the vessel, occupancy, cabin arrangement, inclusions, skipper, cancellation terms and whether the charter is exclusive to your group.
