— How it works

How Trade Bookings Work

Most trade enquiries start with an email or a short call telling us who your client is, when they are travelling and roughly what they hope to see. A rough brief is genuinely plenty; filling in the rest is our job. We come back with any questions, then send a proposed route with timings and a price in writing, so you have a complete itinerary to put in front of your client rather than a verbal outline. If the client wants changes, we revise the plan and send it back, and nothing is confirmed until you and your client are happy with it.

Throughout all of this you deal with one person rather than a rotation of departments. The same liaison looks after your booking from the first enquiry to the end of the tour, which keeps the detail straight when an itinerary shifts late in the day. We work by email, text and video call, and we are well used to fitting calls around working days on the other side of an ocean.

— Who we work with

Who This Suits

The arrangement works for agents and advisors anywhere, and it is particularly useful for those in the United States planning a client’s trip to Britain from several time zones away. Most of our guests plan their trips from North America, Australia or mainland Europe. Calls and video meetings are available between 7am and 10pm UK time and should be arranged in advance.

Client itineraries run from a single day to a week or more, across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. A ready-made day tour can be dropped straight into a trip you have already built, or we can write a fully bespoke itinerary around your client’s particular interests. We can also quote an airport or cruise-terminal collection through a transport partner. The proposal will name the pickup, vehicle, luggage allowance and destination before the client commits.

— Working together

Commission and Partnership

How we work together depends on how you like to run your bookings. Some agents keep the client relationship and the accommodation in their own hands and pass the touring to us; others prefer the whole itinerary, hotels included, managed at our end. Both arrangements work, because either way we simply collect your client from wherever they are staying.

On commission and partnership terms, a short conversation does a better job than a table on a website. Contact us to discuss terms and we will find an arrangement that fits the way you work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with travel agents and travel advisors?

Yes. We work with agents and advisors who need a private, driver-guided element for a client’s trip to Britain, whether that is one day out of a longer itinerary or the whole visit. You deal with us directly rather than through a booking platform, and we plan the tour around the brief you give us. Get in touch to start a conversation.

What kind of trips do you build for agents' clients?

Anything from a single day out of London to a multi-day itinerary across England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland. Most agent enquiries fall into one of two shapes: a ready-made day tour dropped into an existing itinerary, or a fully bespoke tour written around a client’s particular interests. We are happy with either, and with the awkward requests that do not fit a catalogue.

Who will we deal with at Best UK Tours?

Your enquiry will have a named contact. Ask us to confirm who will manage the itinerary, quote and any later changes so the communication route is clear from the outset.

How do you prefer to communicate with agents?

Email is the simplest starting point. Calls and video meetings are available between 7am and 10pm UK time, including for agents working in other time zones, and should be arranged in advance.

Can you provide a written itinerary and quote we can share with a client?

Yes. We come back with a proposed route, timings and a price in writing, so you have something to put in front of your client rather than a verbal outline. If the client wants changes, we revise it and send it back. Nothing is confirmed until you and your client are happy with the plan.

Can you collect clients from airports and cruise terminals?

Airport and cruise-terminal collection depends on the route, date and vehicle availability. Send the flight or sailing details and final destination, and we will confirm the pickup arrangements in the quote.

Do you arrange hotels as part of a client's itinerary?

Hotel arrangements may be discussed as part of an itinerary, or the agent can retain the accommodation booking. The proposal should state who is booking each hotel and what is included before the client commits.

Do you offer multi-day itineraries as well as day tours?

Yes. Ready-made multi-day tours run from two days upwards, and longer bespoke itineraries can run for a week or more with the driving, the routing and the hotels arranged. For a client who wants to see several regions of Britain without hiring a car, this is usually the simplest thing to sell.
