What is there to do in Brighton on this tour?

The Royal Pavilion first, a seaside palace of domes and extravagant interiors that looks like nothing else in England, then the Lanes and North Laine for the independent shops and street performers, then the pier and the promenade along the seafront. The evening is left at leisure, so dinner by the sea is the obvious way to spend it.

How much time is there in Bath?

An evening and a morning. The second day ends with the arrival in Bath and the evening free to unwind, explore or find dinner, and the third starts on foot in the city, taking in the Royal Crescent and Bath Abbey before the Roman Baths and lunch. Stonehenge follows in the afternoon, so Bath is not squeezed into an hour.

Is five days enough for a first trip to England?

For the south of England it is generous. You get a university city, Shakespeare’s home town, a run of Cotswolds villages, Georgian Bath with the Roman Baths, Stonehenge, the coast at Brighton and two royal palaces, which is a lot of different Englands in one week.
