Frequently Asked Questions

Does the three-day tour include a full day in London?

Yes, the first day is London from start to finish. It takes in the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels, a cruise on the Thames past Tower Bridge and St Paul’s, Westminster with Big Ben and Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, then Covent Garden, Leicester Square and the West End. The evening is left open for dinner or more exploring.

Where do we sleep on the three-day tour?

The first night is in London and the second is in Bath. Day one ends with a flexible evening in the capital, so dinner or a show is your own call, and day two finishes with the drive from Windsor into Bath, where you check in and eat locally. Day three then starts on foot in Bath rather than in the car.

Can the tour collect us from an airport or a cruise terminal?

An airport or cruise-terminal start may be possible, depending on the arrival point, schedule and vehicle availability. Send the flight or sailing details and we will confirm the collection in writing.

Do we finish back in London?

You are driven back at the end of the third day and dropped at your accommodation, so most guests finish where they started. If your onward travel points somewhere else, an airport or another city, mention it when you book and we will end the tour there instead. Our multi-day tours page covers routes that begin and end in different places.

Is Hampton Court worth seeing alongside Windsor Castle?

They offer different periods of royal history in the same itinerary. Access to particular rooms and St George’s Chapel depends on the opening arrangements for your date, so the visitor route should be confirmed before the day.

Is three days a good length for a first visit to England?

It is a sensible amount of ground to cover. You get the capital, the royal palaces at Hampton Court and Windsor, Georgian Bath with the Roman Baths underneath it, and Stonehenge, which between them span prehistoric, Roman, Tudor and Georgian England. If you have longer, the four-day itinerary adds Oxford, Stratford and the Cotswolds.

What is the difference between this and your three-day cruise excursion?

Where it starts. This one begins and ends at your London accommodation, while the three-day cruise excursion collects you from the Southampton cruise terminal and runs through the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford instead of a day in the capital. The choice comes down to whether you arrive by air or by sea.
