Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the two-day tour start and finish?
At your accommodation, both ends. Your driver-guide collects you on the first morning and you leave London for Hampton Court Palace, and on the second evening you are driven back and dropped at your door after Stonehenge. Nobody has to find a meeting point with cases in hand, which matters rather more on a two-day trip than on a single day out.
Where do we stay overnight between the two days?
In Bath. The first day ends with the drive from Windsor through the countryside into the city, leaving time to check in, relax and find somewhere for dinner. The second morning then starts on foot in Bath itself, so you wake up already where the day begins rather than driving to it. Our multi-day tours page explains how the hotel side is handled.
What does the first day of the tour cover?
The published route pairs Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle before the drive to Bath. Castle rooms and St George’s Chapel are subject to their opening arrangements, so the final order and available visitor route should be checked for your date.
Does the tour visit Stonehenge and the Roman Baths on the same day?
Yes, both fall on the second day. The morning is Bath itself, wandering the Georgian streets past the Royal Crescent and Bath Abbey before going into the Roman Baths, then lunch in the city, then the drive out to Stonehenge. Finishing at the stone circle means the last thing you see is a 5,500-year-old monument rather than a motorway.
Can we change what the two days include?
Yes. These are ready-made itineraries rather than fixed ones, so if Hampton Court matters less to you than another afternoon in Bath, say so when you enquire and we will rework the route. The shape of the tour, two days with a night in Bath in the middle, is what holds it together, and what you fill it with is largely your own call.
Is the tour private to our group?
This two-day itinerary is described as private to your party, with its own vehicle and driver-guide. That answer applies to this product; the site also lists a separate small-group Wales departure.
How does this compare with your longer England tours?
Two days covers the royal palaces, Bath and Stonehenge, which is the core of what most visitors want to see west of London. Adding days reaches further: the four-day itinerary brings in Oxford, Stratford and the Cotswolds villages, and the five-day England tour adds Brighton and the south coast on top of that.
