Are you bringing the kids? Our tours are built for family too

Have you ever tried engaging the kids on a tour of a “boring” old castle (their words not mine) or tied to convince them that a bunch of rocks in a field are super interesting? Well I understand that struggle I’ve had them myself.

That’s why when we say our tours are kid friendly, we really mean it, we don’t just tolerate them, we actively get them involved, depending on their ages the day is designed with them in mind, I’m a parent so I know how these days go, it has to be fun, the stories get more and more elaborate and fun is at the core.

The tours aren’t polished tours with a few kiddie gimmicks thrown in, this is the real deal, a tour that moves at your pace, grabs their attention and lets you as parents relax and enjoy your day too

I’m bored; how many times have you heard that one

Sightseeing with kids is different, we limited the very long walks, or too much long explanations about stuff they are just not interested in so we do things differently

If your little one wants to run around a bit, then hey why not, its good for them to burn off some energy so we find a place for them to do this, if you have that awkward teenager who has those probing questions or what do know those odd fact then great, we always say “there is no such thing as a silly question”.

This is one of the best things about doing private tours, there is no timer, we are not hoarding around a massive bunch of people so we can be flexible on the day so if they want to spend longer feeding the ducks then, hey why not.

Isn’t history boring?

Well this can be true if its told in a standard way, the trick is to tell them in a story way, the wilder, sillier, weirder the better we have found.

So when we are talking castles, its not “this was built in 1066 blah blah, its more “guess who lost there head here” or “there is a legend of the dragon that lives under the drawbridge”, its stuff that makes them stop and say “hang on” really?

We have found that kids come up with the best question, in fact some of the best questions we have ever had have come from them, kids tend to spot the little details and taking the time to answer them makes a big difference.

Don’t worry parents this is for you too

Lets be honest, taking a vacation with kids is not exactly restful, so while our crew entertain the kids, this gives you some time to chill out and enjoy each location yourselves.

Our cars have phone charges and refreshment essential for a smooth running of the day.

We don’t do half days, but hear me out

Do we do half days? short and sweet sounds easier, but honestly our full day tours have been crafted so that it keeps them entertained the whole time so the day flies by.

We break everything down in to bite size chunks, stop when needed, even grab an ice cream if needed.

We always talk previous to the tour to make sure we are covering the things they are really interested in, some like king Arthur and swords, others like animals and ducks, and others like unicorns and dragons, but knowing and planning this in advance makes the best tour, for them but more importantly you too.

Some spots that never fail

Windsor castle: changing of the guard, basically a mini parade with cool outfits (that’s uniforms for adults).

The Roman baths: Old water, strange facts and stories about Roman restrooms, they love this stuff.

Stonehenge: we have to explore aliens, druids with drum and silly sayings and chants, sometimes we just make some up in the car for fun.

Life memories

We have taken out families for many years, and they have come back multiple times because its not often you get a tour that REALLY caters for kids.

Are aim is for them to say “that was the best day of the whole holiday” sorry parents, it’s a competition ha ha.

Talk to us about some of our tours, we would love to take you and the family out for the day, remember we can custom all of our tours to suit what you are looking for.

Look forward to meeting you and the kids one day
